From CRA - Dept# 1-613-777-0656-very serious legal matter.If i don't return the call, i'll face a legal consequences and arrest warrant (without stating my name). They have my home address including my SIN#-Contact Officer Eric Foster but with very think Indian accent

I had the same call from this number, same crap. I have also had a call from another number this month, same garbage. This month the guy James Anderson, heavy accent, called 10 times, leaving a partial message each time. I did not answer the calls, and he kept calling back. I blocked the number and reported it to CRA.

The guy calling from phone number 613-777-0656 had a strong Indian accent. He said his name was officer Erick Foster and that he was calling from the Canada Revenue Agency.

We received a call today from someone threatening a serious lawsuit against our name. He said the call was very time sensitive and that we needed to return the call as soon as possible to his department number which was 613-777-0656. He repeated the number 613-777-0656. He said if we didn't call back we would face hard legal consequences and that our SIN would be under investigation. He said our SIN # would be red flagged forever. He then said goodbye and have a blessed day. agent named

I received a call from a man saying he is from the Canada Revenue Agency and asking if I have a criminal lawyer. He had a strong accent and I couldn't understand what he was saying aside from that. I told him to send me official documentation and hung up.

Has call 3x this AM asking for a Mr Woods (I have had my phone number for >35 years and there is no Mr Woods). One time when I questioned him (he sounded foreign) he told me to "F##k Off" then he hung up. I have now blocked the number!

The message said I needed to call immediately, as it was time sensitive. In other words so there wasn't time to check the validity of the call. I was told there would be a serious lawsuit and my social insurance number would be flagged forever. (Rather dramatic!). At the end he said it was Canada Revenue calling. He then told me to have a blessed day. Never has any government official suggested that to me. It was suspicious right off the bat. Hopefully too suspicious to fool anyone. What horrible people there are out there!

I received a message today saying the same thing. Funny enough they didn't say who the 'serious lawsuit' would be against. I knew right away it was a scam. Nice though that the man told me to have a blessed day. Really???

They are claiming to be the Canadian Revenue Agency and that there is a lawsuit filled against me and I should call them right away. Of course it is a scam. Once you call, you need to give them personal data and of course a credit card number to solve the financial predicament. If you have any problems with the CRA, they usually do not proceed like that at all. If you are unsure about your Tax issues, and need to call, find their number on the CRA site and call them to be sure, if ever you get a call from any other number telling you this BS. Also enrol with the CRA online. All you communications will go there. People, if you receive benefits from the Govt such as Child support, solidarity Tax Returns, etc, if you have a tax problem, they will stop paying them immediately and advise you about it . If you continue to get those payments and yet get a call for Tax problems, from an unknown source, you know it is 100% a scam. Anyway beware.
